Benhard Alfred Nobel, was a generous person in advancing science and peace, but some people argue that generosity because previously he has created a tool that has been killing people en masse. 

Alfred Bernhard Nobel was born in Stockholm, Sweden, October 21, 1833. He had entered school at the age of 8 years. New school year, he joined his parents moved to St. Petersburg, Russia. The father, Immanuel Nobel, then set up a factory torpedoes and mines.

In the new place, he is no longer in school but studying at home. So he got enough knowledge, parents bring the teacher to teach. Educational models that turned out pretty good and fit to the Nobel.

At age 16, he had mastered the science of chemistry. He is also proficient in various languages ​​such as English, French, German, Russian, and Swedish as his native land. With skillful speaking, he tried to write poetry and novel writing. Unfortunately, it is not finished.

Not satisfied with the knowledge that he got, he went to Paris to deepen chemistry at the age of 17 years. The following year he left for the United States and had lived there for four years. After that he returned to St. Petersburg and joined his father's company.

Return to his family coincided with the onset of the Crimean War (1853-1856) between Russia against Britain, France, Turkey, and Sardinia. Torpedoes and mines his father's production company widely used in the war. However, when the war ended, Russia does not need more torpedoes and mines. Finally, their factory was bankrupt.

After the bankruptcy, the Nobel returned to Sweden and set up factories nitro glycerin, liquid explosives. In 1864 the factory exploded and killed five employees including Nobel brother, Emil. The Swedish government banned Nobel to rebuild in the same factory.

The incident did not make the Nobel despair and despondency. He returned to experiment conquest nitro glycerin. Accidentally, he saw a nitro glycerin liquid drip into the chalky soil. The combination of nitro glycerin with calcareous soils it is born safe enough dynamite. He also produces dynamite and become rich.

However, along with the use of dynamite as a weapon of war that resulted in casualties, Nobel was sorry. Finally, in his will mentions that some of his property was donated to the advancement of science and peace.
